Dr Rosanne Casu is a Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO Plant Industry, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She leads the Sugarcane Genomics Team within the Tropical and Sub-Tropical Plant Biology Program and also leads a project on “Testing the Sucrose Accumulation Model” within the Cooperative Research Centre for Sugar Industry Innovation through Biotechnology. Since 1998, she has been heavily involved in sugarcane genomics research, leading to the identification of transcripts active in maturing stem of sugarcane and pioneering large-scale transcriptional profiling of sugarcane using microarrays. In addition, she maintains an active interest in bioinformatics of sugarcane, especially transcriptomics of sugarcane tissues and genome sequencing.
